The Flash Developer reports to the Design Director and is responsible for building and maintaining Flash-based mini sites and advertising campaigns for the company.  The Flash Developer works closely with designers to create fluid and user-friendly web sites exclusively in Flash and HTML.

Four to five years of Flash development experience (Flash MX 2004/ Flash Professional 8) with an emphasis on Action Scripting (ActionScript2) is preferred.  Must also have proficiency in XML and HTML.  Web design experience and the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines is desired.

The candidate will use senior-level CSS2, HTML and scripting to build and support dynamic Web site applications for some of the world's top online and print publishing brands. The candidate will take a technical leadership position in the Web Production department, a deadline driven environment with an emphasis on attention to detail.

The candidate will be responsible for the full Web site development lifecycle in a JSP environment including: meeting detailed functional and technical specifications, following quality assurance methodologies, using source control and versioning procedures. The candidate will be looked upon to work with different departments to achieve a common goal. Also the candidate is expected to be an active problem solver who understands the needs of the online publishing industry.

Hi Ashod,

I wanted to ask you if you can share this position with member of your user group. This is a position that i am having a very difficult time finding someone for. This is a contract to hire role.

NYC:

This role will definitely be a combination of design and coding. This person will be someone who is creative and can do the design piece but also do some hard-coding.

Candidate must be strong with HTML, CSS, XML and Javascript. At least some experience with AJAX is also a requirement. Any experience with Macromedia or Flash would be a plus.

These are ASP based applications sitting on C# and this candidate should have an understanding of the "hand shake" between the front end and the middle tier a .Net platform.
